Another year, another fantastic Jazz Festival in Solihull. We came back bigger and better with the support of Birmingham to create the Birmingham and Solihull Jazz and Blues Festival.
The 2016 festival started on July 15th ending in Solihull on July 17th, continuing in various locations in Birmingham until July 24th with bands from the UK, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Holland, Canada, India, Hungary and the USA.
The open-air Mell Square stage was the heart of the Solihull activity, with eight free shows over three days, accompanied with street food and a bar. Three bands also played in Theatre Square at the Touchwood Costa Del Sol beach over the weekend.
Hundreds of people came along to the three-day event in Solihull to see the amazing bands, enjoy street food and luckily the sunshine. Those who came on the Saturday were the lucky ones, not only getting entertainment from the open-air stage but also getting a ride on the musical express jazz train which ran through the town centre.
Overall it was an unforgettable weekend, with the community of Solihull coming together to create the upbeat and lively atmosphere. Each year it gets better and better and shows us why Solihull is really such a great place to be!
