Get to know the Solihull BID team, who work tirelessly all year round to help promote the town to a local and national audience
Operational and strategic lead for Solihull BID and its 7-strong team including building relationships with key stakeholders, planning and delivering our overall BID projects to ensure our town centre remains the jewel in the crown of the Midlands and ahead of the curve as a visitor destination.
Responsible for Human Resources management of Solihull BID employees; strategic lead for the Town Host teams; BID & Partnership lead and coordinator of the DISC project; BID representative on regional town centre forums; Health & Safety lead on BID Events; DPS for the alcohol licence that covers the outside areas of Solihull Town Centre and development of the Loss Prevention, Retail Radio and Customer Service training programmes for levy payers and other UK BIDs.
Marketing and Events Manager
Joined in January 2016. Amy's role includes co-ordinating and managing the BID events and marketing, production of any creative material, liaising with levy payers and working with Steven on social media development. Amy is also the editor of the InSolihull Magazine, so please get in touch with her for anything magazine or events related.
Digital Communications Lead
The newest member of the BID team, Steven manages all of our social media accounts and website activity and was behind the development of our new website you see before your very eyes. He also looks after the BID's e-newsletters and helps to spread the BID's message as far and wide as possible. Steven also oversees the BID Card scheme, ensuring all offers are current and all applications are processed. He also helped develop, and now maintains, the new Solihull BID Card mobile app.
Town Host Team Leader
Hi, my name is Emma, I am the Town Host Team Leader. I originally joined Solihull BID in May 2013 as a Town Host. I really enjoy the interaction with the businesses and partnership working with Solihull Police, Touchwood and Mell Square. I have a varied interest in many of the roles we carry out assisting the Police and taking part in Solihull BID events and getting to see the growth of businesses getting involved with the BID. Having a role that focuses on supporting the businesses from a safe and secure aspect means you get the chance to generate good working relationships meaning the Town Host team and the businesses can work together more efficiently to carry out the detection and prevention of retail crime within the town.
Hi, I am Emma Turnbull one of the town hosts for Solihull BID, I joined the BID in August 2011. A large part of our daily role is interacting with the different businesses and the public. I regularly field various queries from businesses and public alike, across a range of subjects from simple directions to information about the services and events provided by the BID. I enjoy all the aspects of my job role but I get the most enjoyment from the promotion and involvement with the events that Solihull BID put on, as I get to see the immediate impact that the BID and our work has on the businesses and the residents of the Solihull borough and its visitors.
Hi I'm Julie. I am able to bring an array of skills to the very varied role of Town Host. My early years saw me fully trained as a plain clothed Store Detective in a large Department Store, where I was also an active First Aider. Since then I've been in Retail Management where I've honed my customer service skills. While I don't live in Solihull, I've worked here in the town centre for Solihull BID since 2016 and have enjoyed being apart of a flourishing business and retail community. I look forward to meeting more of the people who make Solihull such a vibrant place to be.
Well Being Coordinator
I am Misty, I have a nominated role as the Well Being Coordinator for the BID team and relevant visitors. It’s a tough job but the extra biscuits and occasional cheese and ham sandwiches make it more bearable.
