By car

If you are coming by car there is nowhere in Solihull that is more than ten minutes from the major motorway junctions running along the M5, M6, M40 and M42.

Our great motorway, road and rail links mean that we are within easy travelling distance of the neighbouring areas of Birmingham, Warwick, Stratford, Leamington Spa, Coventry and Worcestershire, making many visitor and business destinations within easy reach.

We are located at the heart of the UK’s motorway network on the M42 which links to the M5 for the West and South West of the UK. The M42 also links to the M6 which is the main route to Manchester, Liverpool and the North West and the M1 for London and the North and North East, as well as the M40 to Oxford and London.

By train

Solihull railway station is just five minutes' walk from the town centre. Solihull is on the Birmingham to Leamington Spa line. Services operate from Birmingham at least every twenty minutes, and there is an hourly service between Solihull and London Marylebone, and between Solihull and Worcester.

The Birmingham International Railway Station (near the NEC/Airport) and New Street (in Central Birmingham) operate a network of services throughout the UK.

By plane

Birmingham Airport is in the heart of Solihull and every year handles over ten million visitors flying both within the UK and to all over the world.

Access to the airport is simplicity itself as it is well served by motorways, train, coach, bus and taxi and even has segregated bicycle routes from local hotels and towns.

The airport offers thousands of car parking spaces. There are also rail links direct to the airport and to the town centre and taxis are easily available.

Bus and coach

Long distance and local bus services are amongst the best in the country, many local services even having wireless Internet access. National Express and Megabus offer a network of connections to the rest of the UK.

By other means

If you like to come under your own steam then you have the benefit of the canal network which suits both bicycle and canal boat equally. The network connects to the whole of the country through the Grand Union and Stratford on Avon canals.
