Solihull Business Expo

You are invited to learn about LinkedIn, refresh on recruitment and gain insights into Google at the first ever Solihull BID Business Expo.

The Expo will feature 25 exhibitors representing Solihull’s wealth of talented businesses, plus networking opportunities, FREE top level workshops and tutorials throughout the day. Visitors will also be offered a FREE corporate head shot photo opportunity.

The Solihull Business Expo will take place on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 (10am-4pm), at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Homer Road and is open to the public. It is being arranged by Solihull BID, the Business Improvement District for the town centre.

A dedicated business directory will be distributed featuring those businesses represented at the event along with a directory of the Solihull Professional Services and Office sector.

Pre-bookable workshops will offer insights into marketing and LinkedIn, while an ‘ask the experts’ panel will share best practice in recruitment, GDPR, HR, insurance and apprenticeships.

Google’s Digital Garage is partnering the event and will be offering workshop sessions throughout the day including one for #IAmRemarkable; a Google initiative empowering women and underrepresented groups to celebrate their achievements in the workplace and beyond. Google will also be giving insights into how to grow your social media strategy.

Aimed at people who are completely new to using LinkedIn, this workshop will give you an overview of the platform, how to use it to promote yourself and your business. It will also cover what type of content you should put and how often you should post. Presented by Rich Brown.

For small business owners and aspiring digital marketers who want to get to grips with the main digital marketing channels. You'll learn how to develop, implement and track a digital marketing strategy.

Mental Health First Aid Taster

Fiona Sanderson, from Work Wellness, will be speaking on Work Wellness Mental Health support, Mental Health First Aid training and the Mental Health First Aid role.

Fiona is a highly qualified medical practitioner. She is an NMC Registered Nurse, has an Occupational Health Specialist Practitioner degree and qualifications in Communications and Teaching and Assessing in Clinical Practice.

For the last 10 years, Fiona has been providing occupational health services, mental and physical health assessments and mental health training to clients in the Midlands travel, engineering and retail sectors.

The success Fiona has achieved through her company, Work Wellness, is built around 2 core values: establishing rapport with employers and their employees and non-judgmental listening, leaving her clients with a commitment and desire for positive lifestyle change.
