Solihull-headquartered Hayfield has been crowned Best Small Housebuilder at the 2019 WhatHouse? Awards. The event dubbed ‘The Oscars of the Housebuilding Industry’ is in its 39th year. Hayfield has made history by ‘doing the double’, having also scooped the prize for Best Small Housebuilder at the 2019 Housebuilder Awards, which took place last month.
1,700 industry peers attended this year’s WhatHouse? Awards, which were held at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House hotel in London. Astronaut Major Tim Peake hosted the event, alongside comedian and television presenter Dara O’Briain.
Founded in 2016, Hayfield specialises in building luxury family houses and has six live sites located in prime locations in Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Oxfordshire and Bedfordshire. Hayfield has 495 residential plots currently under construction, and sites secured - with planning in place for 760 plots - newly acquired or in solicitors’ hands.
Mark Booth, Managing Director of Hayfield said: “As a relative newcomer to the industry, winning a national award means everything in terms of credibility, raising awareness, installing confidence in purchasers, bidding for new sites and securing further investment. The two biggest national award schemes for the industry are the Housebuilder Awards and the WhatHouse? Awards. The events are held in London within three weeks of each other, branding this time of year ‘awards season’ for the housebuilding industry.
“We were blown away with each individual award win, but when we discovered we were the first company to win both Best Small Housebuilder Awards in the same year, we couldn’t believe it! Three years ago, we were busy acquiring land and bringing forward our first developments, but here we are today with three completed schemes already under our belt and the most prestigious national awards in our possession. This genuinely means everything to the Hayfield team because we all put our heart and soul into what we do.
Hayfield has won over its customers and the industry at large by putting quality and customer service at the heart of the business. Luxury specification comes as standard across its development portfolio, incorporating Minoli ceramic tiles, underfloor heating, Laufen bathrooms, Manor Interiors bespoke kitchens, Hammonds fitted wardrobes, heritage bronze ironmongery and Farrow & Ball paint.
Mark Booth added: “Industry accolades really matter. They breed confidence amongst our partners, supply chain, customers and our growing team. Being crowned Best Small Housebuilder at both the WhatHouse? Awards and the Housebuilder Awards could not have come at a better time, as we are going through a period of rapid expansion. We have 495 homes currently under construction and have recently invested in seven new sites. Thank you to all those that are part of Hayfield’s journey.”
In addition to the two Best Housebuilder wins, Hayfield also scooped Best Customer Satisfaction Initiative at the 2019 Housebuilder Awards. The company was also recently crowned Residential Developer of the Year at the Insider West Midlands Property Awards 2019. Earlier this year, Hayfield was awarded Best Family Home Under £750,000 at the 2019 Evening Standard New Homes Awards and scooped an NHBC Pride in the Job Award for Hayfield Views in the Oxfordshire village of Great Bourton. Last year, Hayfield received a Bronze Award for Best Small Housebuilder at the 2018 WhatHouse? Awards.
Kelly Sharman, Sales and Marketing Director at Hayfield said: “In this more challenging market, there is still strong interest from purchasers and we have a lot of faith in the underlying demand for high quality housing in desirable areas. Hayfield is capitalising on the gap in the market for a premium product – we have proven it is what buyers want and they are keen to invest in a more luxurious, higher quality home that will stand the test of time.”
