Friday, July 19th-Sunday, July 21st: A weekend of music, children’s attractions and delicious food and drink across Solihull town centre
Solihull ‘Sort Of’ Jazz Festival
Solihull town centre will be swinging to the sounds of live music between Friday, July 19th and Sunday, July 21st for the Solihull ‘Sort Of’ Jazz Festival.
The weekend features 28 bands and solo artists performing at 17 different venues across the town centre. It is the biggest celebration of young music talent in the history of the Jazz Festival.
Among the 11 performers taking to the Mell Square Stage is talented Solihull singer Liam Price, whose stunning audition had all four coaches spinning in their seats during a recent episode of Saturday night ITV show The Voice Kids.
The teenager’s performance of the Bill Withers classic Lean on Me was described by The Voice Kids host Emma Willis as ‘the best pitch I’ve seen in seven years’.
Liam will be performing alongside fellow The Voice Kids contestant Aimee Bryceland, who wowed the show’s judges with her performance of Meet You at the Moon by Imelda May.
Solihull ‘Sort Of’ Jazz Festival is being arranged by Solihull BID, the Business Improvement District for the town centre.
Jazzy Jungle Animal Trail
Families are being asked to unleash their wild side between July 19th-21st to take part in the roarsome Jazzy Jungle Trail across the town centre.
Start with free face painting (Saturday and Sunday only) before discovering the 15 animals in shop windows across Solihull town centre.
Complete the trail to discover the animal names and post your finished form into the jungle box in Mell Square. One lucky winner will receive a £50 gift card to spend at the Entertainer in Touchwood.
Don’t forget to take a selfie with the three special guests in Mell Square; an elephant, lion and zebra!
Food & Drink Market
Solihull BID is once again partnering with street-food experts RR Events for the return of the always-popular Food & Drink Market.
So while you’re soaking up the sounds of the ‘Sort Of’ Jazz Festival you can tuck into tapas or tortilla, or kick-back with a coffee or cake while the kids are searching for the Jazzy Jungle animals.
The Food & Drink Market will be in Mell Square, Mill Lane and High Street from 10am each day between Thursday July 18th-Sunday, July 21st.
