Flying Tiger Copenhagen is excited to announce a charity fundraiser with a difference – a multi-store marathon, which will take place in 28 stores up and down the country on Thursday 25th April.
In an epic relay race set to get hearts pumping and blood racing, staff from each of the stores will take to the tracks and complete 26 miles, equating to over 1 million metres!
Donned in fancy dress, hundreds of staff will be poised at the starting blocks from 9am,ready to raise money whilst they walk the all important laps for charity.
Customers are also encouraged to come along and take part in all the fun with friends and family, whilst at the same time supporting this incredible cause. Light refreshments will also be served to keep the worthy walkers hydrated on their way around.
All proceeds will be donated to Sue Ryder, which is a charity that supports people through the most difficult times of their lives. For over 65 years their doctors, nurses and carers have given people the compassion and expert care they need to help them live the best life they possibly can.
Jon Edwards, Director of Flying Tiger Copenhagen Midlands comments: "We’re delighted to be able to host what we hope will be a fun-filled day across 28 of our stores nationwide and ultimately raise money for Sue Ryder a charity that I hold dear to my heart. This is due to a number of close friends having been supported in their final days by the caring team and dare I say it up lifting environment at these crucial hospices.
"I will also be running the London Marathon this year for Sue Ryder and I just wanted to do a little more. I soon realised how amazing it would be to take that fundraising further and extend the idea to all of our Flying Tiger Copenhagen staff, giving them the chance to get involved too. We hope everyone is ready to get sweaty and raise some important pennies for this very good cause!"
Matt Reay, Senior Community Fundraiser at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice said: "The amazing effort Flying Tiger Copenhagen stores are making to get behind Jon with the "Amazathon" is awe-inspiring – as is Jon’s epic London Marathon training and fundraising.
"For every step Flying Tiger customers and staff take in the store and every pound raised on Thursday 25th April, they'll be helping our Sue Ryder nurses, doctors, care team, support staff and family support team be there for local families when it matters. This involves giving expert and compassionate palliative and bereavement support.
"We can't wait to see the activity across 28 Flying Tiger Copenhagen stores in support of Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice."
So why not get your workout gear on and join the team for an "Amazathon" walk to remember at your local Flying Tiger Copenhagen store this April.
