Organisers of the annual Solihull BID Excellence Awards have revealed the innovative companies and talented trainees shortlisted for this year’s honours.
More than 100 entries were received for the red-carpet celebration and a panel of judges is now going through the process of interviewing each shortlisted candidate or business.
A new sponsor has also been confirmed for this year’s awards as Mell Square owner I.M. Properties joins Touchwood, Solihull College & University Centre, Phoebus Software, BNP Paribas Personal Finance, Solihull Observer and Wasps Rugby in showing its commitment to Solihull business by partnering the event.
The Solihull BID Excellence Awards recognise the outstanding businesses large and small that make the town centre an exciting place to live and work. It takes place on Thursday, November 21, at the Voco (St Johns) Hotel on Warwick Road.
This year’s awards features seven categories: Best Hospitality and Leisure, Best Independent, Best Customer Service, Outstanding Young Person, Outstanding Innovation and Enterprise, Outstanding Team of 2019 and Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility.

The judges at this year’s Excellence Awards will be Solihull College & University Centre Principal John Callaghan, Eileen Schofield of Schofield & Associates, Paul Brown, Director, EY, consultant chef David Colcombe, Ojay McDonald, Chief Executive of the Association of Town & City Management, Kevin Urquhart, Managing Director, Dluxe Magazine and Marcia Greenwood, Northfield BID Town Centre Manager.
