A new Japanese restaurant has opened in Soilhull, thanks to detailed legal advice provided by Thursfields Solicitors.

Yakinori has opened the doors to its 3,000 sq ft premises on what was formerly the site of Druckers Vienna Patisserie in the Touchwood Shopping Centre.

The Solihull branch is the latest in the expanding Yakinori brand which already includes premises in Grand Central Birmingham, Selly Oak and central Bristol.

Robert Pettigrew, head of Thursfields’ Solihull office, led the team who worked on the legal details behind the restaurant’s opening.

Japanese food expert Ali Karakaya, the owner and founder of Yakinori, said: “Solihull and the south Midlands is a key market for Yakinori, with Touchwood providing the ideal base for us.

“I was really pleased with the way Robert and his team fought our corner on this matter, driving the deal forward and ensuring we fully understood the legal process and were able to complete on time.

“While the Solihull restaurant helps cement our base in the West Midlands, the plan is to expand the chain nationwide.

“We look forward to continuing to work with Thursfields as Yakinori continues to expand.”

Mr Pettigrew, a director in Thursfields’ commercial property department, said: “We were delighted to work with Ali on this latest venture for Yakinori.

“Ali and his team are a great addition to Touchwood and he has already very kindly hosted the Thursfields team to lunch at the new restaurant.

“We were all really impressed with the layout, the service and of course the food, and everyone is planning a return visit.

“We also look forward to working with Ali on his further expansion programme and continuing to enjoy the Yakinori experience”.

Yakinori, described as offering a fresh and innovative approach to Japanese food, will be a welcome addition to Touchwood’s cuisine with its vibrant and colourful decor.

The business remains a very hands-on affair for Mr Karakaya, who prides the Yakinori experience on providing the very best that Japanese food has to offer, alongside a great customer experience.

Yakinori is open Sunday to Thursday 11am to 10.30pm, and Fridays and Saturdays from 11am to 10.30pm.  The restaurant offers both dine-in and takeaway services, and is also available on Deliveroo.
