- The Chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced his 'Winter Economy Plan'. A new Job Support Scheme will be introduced from 1 November to protect viable jobs in businesses who are facing lower demand over the winter months due to coronavirus.
- The new #NHSCOVID19app, now available in England, is the fastest way of knowing when you’re at risk from coronavirus. The app has a number of tools to protect you, including contact tracing, local area alerts and venue check-in.
- If you live in Solihull, Birmingham or Sandwell, you must NOT host people you do not live with in your home or garden, unless they’re in your support bubble OR meet people you do not live with in their home or garden, whether inside or outside of the affected areas, unless they’re in your support bubble.

Solihull BID has secured a new five-year term representing the town centre following a successful renewal ballot of 457 member businesses. The confidential postal ballot conducted by UK Engage closed on October 31.
A total of 90.35% voted in favour of the Solihull BID continuing, with 96.27% in rateable value. The turnout was 56.89%.
