Hop into the year of the rabbit at Touchwood’s Chinese New Year celebration

Come on down to Touchwood Solihull this Chinese New Year and join in the celebrations with two days of traditional, fun-filled entertainment.

On Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd January from 11am to 3.30pm, the centre will be hosting a series of events with artists from the DANS Chinese Dance and Performing Arts group. From Chinese calligraphy to folk singing and Chinese dance classes, there’s plenty to do for the whole family.

The weekend celebrations will commence with a spectacular musical performance and walkabout the centre by the traditional Chinese dragon and lion, including fan dancers and Chinese instruments, spreading joy and prosperity for the upcoming year of the rabbit.

Guests will have the opportunity to pose for pictures with the colourful creatures, and even get stuck in with traditional Chinese dance at a Chinese fan dance workshop.

For those looking to try their hand at calligraphy, visitors will also be treated to a Chinese calligraphy writing workshop to practice writing good luck phrases and bring well wishes for the year ahead.

In addition, talented musicians will be performing a range of Chinese folk songs using traditional instruments for shoppers to enjoy. With plenty of activities for all to enjoy, come and join in the celebrations!
