Local business delivers festive treats for children at Solihull Hospital

To help spread festive cheer to children, a Solihull business has donated over 100 chocolate treats and selection boxes to the Children’s Outpatients department at Solihull Hospital.

Energy One, based at Radcliffe House in the town centre, is a neighbour of Solihull Hospital and supporter of the University Hospitals Birmingham (UHB) Charity, which is the official charity of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.

It is the second year in a row that the company, which supplies software and services to energy trading markets, has donated treats at Christmas time. The goodies will be given to young patients visiting the hospital over the Christmas period.

Energy One team members recently delivered the collection of selection boxes to the department (pictured). Energy One UK CEO, Sunny Tiwana, comments: “We are very proud to support UHB Charity and hope our donation of treats for the children attending Solihull Hospital over Christmas will help to bring a smile to many faces.”

Laura Power, Senior Fundraising Manager at University Hospitals Birmingham Charity adds: “We’re very grateful to Energy One for its support and can’t thank the team enough for their generous donation, which we are sure will have an uplifting impact on our patients.”

The donation is part of Energy One’s ongoing assistance to UHB Charity. Over the past 12 months, the company has supported the charity with fundraising for the hospital’s refurbishment of the Children’s Outpatients department and its mobile dental unit for children.

UHB Charity is an umbrella charity made up of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity, Heartlands Hospital Charity, Good Hope Hospital Charity and Solihull Hospital Charity. It works across its sites to support patients, families and staff by providing ‘added extras’ that are over and above those provided by the NHS.
