‘Small is beautiful’ festival celebrates Solihull artists

Small is Beautiful is a two night event (Thursday 1 and Friday 2 February, 7pm-9pm) at The Core, Solihull celebrating and showcasing work created by artists living and working in Solihull.

Developed by Culture Solihull to help support and develop the cultural and creative industries in Solihull, a wide variety of micro-commissions from local artists have been selected for Small is Beautiful, covering art forms from visual art to aerial, poetry to photography, musical theatre to dance.

    Keisha Grant – Keneish Dance

Small is Beautiful aims to give both established and new artists the chance to try out new ideas, concepts and ways of working, and will feature exciting live performances on both nights. The works that will be showcased explore a wide range of topics and themes, and range from the playful to the serious.

In addition to the event, the visual art micro-commissions selected for Small is Beautiful feature in a free exhibition in the Courtyard Gallery at The Core, running from 23 January to 12 February.

Entry to Small is Beautiful is FREE but tickets must be booked in advance at Small is Beautiful 2024 (thecoretheatresolihull.co.uk)

Small is Beautiful is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
